Analyzing the effect of removing the Monroe Blue Line stop on transit ridership in Chicagoland
Description
This project served as my final for my Intro to GIS class. The research question for this project was: If the CTA removed the Monroe Blue Line station, would the decrease in line times outweigh the increase in average access and egress times and lead to an increase in ridership? To answer this question, I implemented a simplified transportation demand model for the Chicago metropolitan area and compared the results for the current transit network, and the network without Monroe.
